Jo Pickering
Art and Watercolour Instructor
Jo began painting in her early teens and has enjoyed more than thirty years teaching art to both adults and secondary school students. She specialise in both watercolour painting particularly portraits and oil painting. Jo writes articles for the Artist magazine and has sold and exhibited her work widely, including the Mall galleries in London and the Biscuit factory in Newcastle. Jo has appeared twice on Sky Arts landscape artist of the year in 2019 and 2021 as a wildcard artist and reserve pod artist. Jo now specialises in portrait painting and teach various arts societies and clubs.
I teach several drawing and painting workshops both on a weekly basis and one day workshops. I teach very step by step and demonstrate lots of different watercolour techniques from wet on wet to blending techniques and fine-liner and wash etc.
